Audition instructions
We are looking forward to Six: Teen Edition.
In-Person auditions – Please sign up for a time (link is on auditions page). Bring your resume, calendar (you will be asked to mark all conflicts between September 18-November 10), and appropriate clothing/shoes that allow for the dance audition (no open back shoes or non-character heels).
Virtual option – if you cannot make the times for in-person, you may submit a video link by September 15th at 6pm. See instructions below.
Six: Teen Edition is the same length as the original (80 minutes) with same songs and story line. The publisher has changed more edgy lines to make it more teen-appropriate and has allowed the use of an ensemble. Depending on talent pool, we may have one or two “Ladies in Waiting” for each queen, who will do backup dancing and singing. We also have opportunities for tech folks if someone is interested please fill out the tech form on the auditions page.
To Audition:
- Sign up – Go to the signup form by clicking green button on the audition page and fill out the form.
- Vocal Selection – please prepare a song from the show (the Queen you’d most like to sing) with the teen edition’s text changes (they will be sent to you when you sign up). Prepare the whole song, however be aware we may just ask for an excerpt (for time) so be prepared to showcase your best in about 1 minute of singing. If you prefer to sing another selection that is fine also. Prepare something in the style of the show.
We will have a Bluetooth speaker and the tracks. If you want to practice with the tracks of one of the Queen’s songs from the show, here is a youtube (with non-copyright noises) to practice with for length/entrances. SIX Teen Edition Full Show Backing Tracks (youtube.com)
- Dance– we will prepare a short combination in the style of the show.
- Read – we will read from the script.
Virtual audition – follow instructions above and record video – please send link to youtube, vimeo, or similar (private channel is fine). You’ll need to find a karaoke track or accompaniment that showcases your voice. In your video, please introduce yourself in a video of singing selection (from above). You may also submit a short dance video if you wish. Email link to info@coolmountain.company along with resume and schedule availability between September 18-November 10. Any Virtual auditions selected will still need to do an in-person callback.
